US-Africa Nuclear Energy Summit
From October 30-November 1, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in collaboration with the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, will be hosting the U.S. – Africa Nuclear Energy Summit (USANES) 2023, in the vibrant city of Accra, Ghana at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The Summit will be the first-ever Pan-African event organized by the United States to be focused on the future of nuclear power on the continent. This event will provide a distinguished platform for U.S. officials to include those from government, academia, industry, and national laboratories; as well as other ministers, leaders, policymakers, and technical experts from across the continent to engage in critical dialogues on nuclear energy issues. With a focus on fostering international cooperation, sharing innovative solutions, and shaping policies, the event will serve as a catalyst for positive change and as a platform to strengthen existing relationships and establish new ones to enhance cooperation in the nuclear energy sector.
